The news everywhere is that Krazzy 4 is a lift from ‘The Dream Team’ , but for the viewers in
Krazzy 4 has a simple plot of kidnapping of a Lady Doctor ( Juhi Chawla) attached to a Mental Asylum, while she is on her way along with her 4 patients to watch a cricket match between India and England. The reason being simple- she is forcibly asked to declare a criminal as mentally ill. And, the people behind this kidnapping are – her own husband and a Police DCP. One of the patients – (Suresh Menon)is shown as a mute witness to this kidnapping. All that the team of four i.e. Arshad Warsi, Irrfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Suresh Menon do while moving freely without a penny, is anybody’s guess.
There is nothing much in the story, as like the title music, that also might have been borrowed; but the screenplay does make a difference. Some of the scenes are well suited to the Indian environment. When Rajpal Yadav comes across look alike of Gandhiji , he literally falls at his feet. Similarly, when he enters a mall and listens to our National anthem, it is worth watching his expressions and the post anthem scene. The struggle of the four to go in search of a rupee coin to use public telephone etc. surely generates humour. In short, director Jaideep has tried his best to make this film more presentable with limited stuff available with him.
It was nice to see Juhi Chawla after a long time in a small but sensible role. In fact, it is Diya Mirza , who as a news channel reporter gets the maximum exposure. Among the four heroes, Rajpal Yadav is the most impressive, followed by Irrfan Khan , who tries to tickle you with his timely deliveries. Arshad Warsi has done well, but in the presence of this duo, he fails to stand out. The fourth character played by Suresh Menon, has nothing much to offer , neither by way of dialogues nor expressions.
Krazzy 4 is a simple entertaining film, if the viewer is prepared to leave aside critical mind and just watch the action. And, there is a simple message too. Listen to those dialogues uttered by Juhi Chawla while defending her patients in the climax. Instead of ‘The end’ the film ends with the words- ‘to be continued’, giving a clear indication that there will be Krazzy 8 to arrive soon . Now, it is for the people to decide, whether they are crazy enough to watch the next part, after watching this one..
